Rio De Janeiro – Shooting reported in Complexo do Alemão favelas in the North Zone of Rio during joint-security operation by Military and Civil Police. At least one police officer and two suspects have been killed.
According to information, Tactical police helicopter within the Complexo do Alemão came under attack with gusts of gunfire, as units from Military and Civil Police conduct a joint operation in various favelas.
BOPE Military Police units said to be conducting raids at several houses within the Complexo do Alemão favelas, as heavy gunfire and shootings persists as police report attacks against agents.
Information reads: “July 21, 2022: Units from Regular Brazilian Security Forces and BOPE started a large Anti-Terrorist operation against Red Command Insurgents in the North Zone of Rio de Janeiro, focused on fulfilling arrest warrants against national leaders of the militant group.”
