Information reaching Kossyderrickent has it that CAF doping officer and Zambian man, Dr Joseph Kabungo, has died following stampede yesterday at MKO Abiola National stadium, Abuja. (Read More Here).
It was reported that angry fans and Nigerians had stormed the National Stadium to destroy things, following failure to qualify for FIFA World Cup in Qatar 2022.
In a sad video, the moment Dr Joseph Kabungo was beaten by a few Nigerians got captured. The moment he became unconscious was also captured.
In an official announcement, a popular Nigerian sports journalist, Pooja Media, revealed that Dr Joseph Kabungo has died.
Pooja Media announces:
“CAF’s Doping Officer for the game between Ghana v Nigeria, Dr Joseph Kabungo, has died after violence erupted after the match in Abuja.
“It’s reported to have lost consciousness after he was beaten & stepped on as fans tried to make their way out of the stadium due to stampede.”
