Chika, an up-and-coming rapper who was nominated for Best New Artist at the Grammys in 2020, posted a worrying message on her Instagram, Saturday, regarding suicide. The Alabama rapper also uploaded several other posts about fans finding her body and that she doesn’t care anymore. (Read More Here).
“I went to the top of the intercontinental, but could not jump,” Chika admitted in the heartbreaking post. “Not because i don’t want to, but because the metal stairs were scary that’s the thing about having a fucked up brain. no matter how much pain you are in, there will always be something to hold you back. i know you guys are tired of me holding back. it’s draining & sad. it looks like crying wolf. but it is not. it’s just difficult to find the right way. the quickest way. the painless way.”
The Warner Music Group artist in the past has several times shed light on her struggles with mental health. The 25-year-old emcee in her Instagram story admitted that she was moments away from throwing herself off the top of The Intercontinental in Los Angeles. Chika also posted other Instagram stories where she claimed that she was not going to make it home asking her fans and followers to find her body in St. Paul.
Furthermore, Chika writes how she believes she’ll serve as a cautionary tale in leaving a person going through immense pain to their own devices. The rapper also relayed that she won’t be sorry for those she might leave behind, saying she refuses to carry the burden of others who refused to help her through the tough times.
Chika has been adding IG Story posts equally concerning, posting messages like, “find my body in st paul idgaf” and “*madison hope ur happy.”
