Operation Dudula leader Nhlanhla “Lux” Dlamini has lashed out at police and the EFF after he was taken in for questioning on Thursday evening. (Read More Here).
Dlamini was addressing supporters outside the Johannesburg Central police station. “We are going to allow the law to follow its course. We will not behave like the EFF, we won’t speak ill of them because they are exposing themselves,” he said.
Dlamini stressed he was taken in because members of the group were “only trying to stop crime”.
“The police must stop giving crime statistics. The suspects of these crimes are illegal immigrants. There are buildings we can identify where there are illegal immigrants,” he lashed out.
Dlamini is currently being held at Johannesburg Central police station after being taken in for questioning on Thursday evening.
His arrest comes after charges were laid against him at the Dobsonville police station on Wednesday by a Soweto resident.
Dlamini is being detained at the Johannesburg Central Prison.
It’s not clear what he’s charged with as yet.
On Wednesday, Soweto resident Victor Ramerafe opened a case against Dlamini after his home was allegedly ransacked by Operation Dudula members over the weekend.
