Information reaching Kossyderrickent has it that The Dutch court credited Cure for the time he has spent so far in their custody since he was arrested in October last year. (Read More Here).
Dutch prosecutors say Cure was found not guilty of attempted murder. He was found guilty of attempted manslaughter. Claim of self-defence was rejected.
43 year old Cure has the option of appealing the six year sentenced imposed by the Dutch court.
This is Cure’s second major criminal conviction. Several years ago he was found guilty of rape by a Jamaican court.
“The court finds him not guilty of attempted murder. His claim of self-defence was rejected by the court,” Franklin Wattimena, press officer of the Netherlands Public Prosecution Service, told OBSERVER ONLINE.
Blogger Hopewell Chin’ono confirms: “Reggae superstar Jah Cure @TheRealJahCure has been jailed for 6 years in Holland on a manslaughter charge for stabbing a promoter.
“In 1999 he was sentenced to 13 years in prison for raping and robbing a woman at gunpoint.
The Grammy nominated star served 8 yrs of that sentence.”
