Information reaching Kossyderrickent has it that South African legendary actor, Patrick Molefe Shai, has finally been laid to rest after passing away at aged 65. (Read More Here).










According to information, his funeral service was held today at Soweto Theatre, south of Johannesburg. It was attended by a handful of people. 


Recall that it was reported that Patrick Shai had passed away after committing suicide in his residence in Soweto. He was 65 when he passed away. 


His wife’s speech at his memorial service is still causing stirs on social media. 



His career began in some of the SABC’s best dramas such as Yizo Yizo, Soul City, Bophelo ke Semphego and Generations. He was also a Gender-Based Activist and a founding member of Free Film Makers of South Africa.

The funeral of the late legendary actor Patric Shai is currently underway at the Soweto theatre. 

Tributes are pouring in as family , friends and colleagues are gathered to pay their lasts respects. Many say Shai was a pillar of his community and he will be remembered for his GBV activism and leadership qualities around the community.


“Israel Matseke-Zulu also made a brief appearance on stage in song. Fellow actors Nakedi Ribane and Sello Maake-ka Ncube are directing the program.

Shai died last week allegedly after committing suicide.”

Information reaching Kossyderrickent has it that South African veteran actor, Patrick Shai, has allegedly committed suicide this morning. 


According to a popular South African tabloid, revealed that Patrick Shai, has passed away after committing suicide. 


Taking to social media (Facebook), Patrick Shai’s grandchild, Keneilwe Nqobile, confirmed that his/her grandfather has passed away. 


His other son wrote: “It’s with great sadness to announce the passing of the veteran Actor Ntate Patrick Shai. He passed away this morning (22nd January 2022). 


“We sincerely ask you to give the family time to process this painful loss. More details will be shared in due course. Thank You.”


Kene wrote: “Tjo, Rest in peace to my grandchild Patrick Molefe Shai 

Still can’t believe you really gone Hai Ngeke this can’t be true. Yoh this life ne.”
