Police operatives in Edo State have arrested a housemaid, Dominion Okoro, who allegedly murdered the mother of Chief Lucky Igbinedion, a two-time former Governor of Edo State. (Read More Here).
The suspect, who hails from Cross River state, allegedly strangled the deceased, Maria Oredola Igbinedion, 85, to death on Thursday, December 2, at her home in Ugbo area of Benin, the State capital.
It was gathered that the suspect allegedly also ransacked the deceased’s home for her jewelries and money, and carted them all away.
According EBS crime correspondent Festus Alenkhe, the suspect was arrested on Tuesday December 15, 2021 in Calabar, the capital of Cross River state, by a combined tactical team of the Nigerian Police.
She is currently being held at the Edo State Police headquarters in Benin City.
