Umuahia-Ikot Ekpene road is no longer a death trap but a blood sucking demon that has prematurely raptured MOUAU Students continually taking full advantage and leverage of the ineptitude of our leaders with seared conscience. This is Miss Chidinma Ogbonna, a student of MOUAU who was involved in a fatal motor accident involving a trailer and she died at the spot along timber road in the same Umuahia-Ikot Ekpene Road. It is disheartening and shocking to recall how this young, vibrant and promising beautiful lady died due to bad road and clueless governance. May her gentle Soul Rest in Peace.
“To: MOUAU MANAGEMENT
Even down to Gate 6, the University main gate, that is the primary death trap, the University Management has always politicised the construction of speed bumps on that road. From 2010 down, that road has been killing our students almost every year. Even as we call on the Honourable, Representating the constituency the road falls on, we also call on the Vice-Chancellor (Prof. Iwe Ofo) of MOUAU to facilitate the construction of speed bumps on that road, particularly Gate 6 to reduce the speed of the commuters thereby minimizing the level of accidents there.
“To: HON. SAM ONUIGBO
Hon. Sam Onuigbo (Member representing Ikwuano/Umuahia North and South Federal Constituency), this road falls in your constituency and we are no longer comfortable with how things are because your constituents are bereaved of the common dividend of democracy, we need Umuahia-Ikot Ekpene death trap fixed. Rep. Sam Onuigbo, you are known and fondly called Odozi-Obodo, biko bia dozie uzo anyi.
“The Students voice have been crying long ago in the wilderness, everyone paid deaf ears, also recall that these students have a general language that everyone understand. I lost loved ones on that same road, I had to cry in silence but remember that there is a GENERAL LANGUAGE which must be understood by everyone someday.
“Remembering all those that died on that same road from 2018 to 2021
Rest In Peace Chidinma Ogbonna (2021)
Rest In Peace Blessing (2021)
Rest In Peace SK (2018).”
