Information reaching Kossyderrickent has it that a Nigerian man identified as, Martins Dickson, from Okobe, Ahoada-West LGA of Rivers State, has been given strokes of cane for stealing bunches of plantain in Agudama-Epie area of Yenagoa, Bayelsa. (Read More Here).
Taking to his Facebook page, Izibeyame Prudent, shared photos of Martins Dickson who got flogged for stealing plantain. He was flogged by the community head after his punishment was decided by the community people.
According to information, Martins Dickson, blamed his stealing ability on hunger and that was the major reason the community people didn’t hand him over to the police. He was also charged with some fines.
Izibeyame Prudent wrote
“THIS IS MARTINS DICKSON FROM OKOBE, AHOADA-WEST LGA, RIVER STATE, NOW RESIDING IN ASSEMBLIES OF GOD STREET, AGUDAMA-EPIE, YENAGOA.
HE IS SPECIALIZE IN STEALING PEOPLE PLANTAIN ON SUNDAY. HE WAS CAUGHT RED HANDED IN THE ACT.
HE WAS GIVEN SOME STROKE OF CANE WITH FINES TO PAY AND LET GO, SINCE HE CLAIMED HUNGER LET HIM GO FOR STEALING! THIS WAS THE DECISION REACHED THAN HANDING HIM OVER TO POLICE.”
